Membership RequirementsProspective members must have completed at least 12 semester units of college work in a maximum of 2 semesters with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students who have just graduated high school with a minimum GPA of 3.5 shall be invited to become members during their first semester of community college.
Types of MembershipActive Membership
• Dues are $12.00 for the current semester. • Required to complete 30 service hours; 15 hours must be from AGS-related events, and 15 hours must be from approved non-AGS volunteer projects and community service. • Eligible to receive transcript notation. • Eligible to receive scholarships and gold stole upon graduation. Inactive Membership • Dues are $22.00 for the current semester. • Required to complete 5 service hours, which may be attained from non-AGS volunteer projects and community service projects. • Eligible to receive transcript notation. • NOT eligible for scholarships or a gold stole. |
Membership BenefitsCampus
• Permanent members graduate with a gold stole and receive special recognition during the graduation ceremony. • Graduation diplomas of permanent members are embossed with official AGS gold seals. • Membership is recorded on official college transcripts for all members in good standing. • Permanent members receive official AGS pins. Opportunities • Have a unique chance to attend statewide conferences. • Become more involved on campus and in the community • Develop leadership skills as an officer or committee chairperson Scholarships • Members are eligible to apply for chapter scholarships • Committed members are eligible for statewide scholarships Interested?AGS applications are due at the end of week three of every semester.
